I might give DBD::Sybase a try when I get to that point. For right now though I cannot even get the FreeTDS part working. Thanks for the suggestion though!

In my opinion, with Perl you're better off using DBD::Sybase with FreeTDS.
It communicates with Microsoft servers just fine. You have one less
layer (no DM) to configure. The only advantage to ODBC is placeholder
support.
It's not an either/or thing. DBD::ODBC and DBD::Sybase can be used by the
same script if need be. So you can give them both a try, if you like.
