Hi,

      Been working on getting the freebcp working within our environment.

 Summary:

      The program tsql works exactly like you expect, no problems what-so-ever. The freebcp program works with the -c, but not -f. Furthermore, freebcp does not give an error. Setting the TDSDUMP environment variable does not produce any errors connecting to the database. Read many of the freetds-lists. Looked at the import file with od, the terminating characters are what are expected. Also, used TDSVER=7.0 and 8.0 with no affect either.

 Here is the environment information:

 Platforms tried upon: Solaris 2.8, FC4, FC5 (all work exactly the same)
 Freetds Version: 0.64
 Freebcp Version: $Id: freebcp.c,v 1.40.2.2 2006/03/14 15:17:42 freddy77 Exp $
 Compile options: None (used defaults)

 SQL Server: 2000 - 2k
 Port Number: 1433
 Authentication Mode: Mixed

 Syntax Used:

 freebcp Database.dbo.mybcptest in smallfile.dat -S mydbserver -U Username -P Password -f mybcptest.fmt

 ==== Table Creation Script ====

 )
 go

 ==== mybcptest.fmt ====

 1
 1       SYBCHAR    0       10      "\n"   1 col1

 ==== smallfile.dat ====

 ===== freetds.conf ====

          host = 192.168.1.50
         port = 1433
          tds version = 7.0

 Any help would be appreciated.

 Thanks,

 Darren
