Well, you just did. :-)

Ach, sorry, I'm wasting your time. Let's just see the TDSDUMP output. (If you see your password in that log, you're using TDS 4.2 whether you mean to be or not. But I doubt that's the case.)

(The NetBSD sed(1) takes a -E option that mean "use extended regular expressions". The GNU manual doesn't define its regex syntax, but, assuming it conforms to SuS3, it shouldn't support any -E option and should be limited to old-fashioned "basic" regular expressions. I'll re-write osql in terms of basic regular expressions and drop the -E option.)

Once we get your problem straightened out, I'd like to contact you off list to help fix mine. My osql script won't be much use if it doesn't work with GNU sed on Linux boxes. According to http://www.gnu.org/software/sed/manual/html_mono/sed.html#SEC2, there is no '-r' option, and your later output:

> odbc.ini and odbcinst.ini should be in /lib/ld-linux.so.2

isn't right; I'm sure "/lib/ld-linux.so.2" isn't a directory.

Thanks for the feedback.
