[freetds] Sybase ASA 8

Hi James (and all other gurus),

Here it is (tdsdump attached).

In windows 2000 it works fine with Sybases own ASA 8 ODBC driver. There
I supply server name, user name, password, database, and network
(tcp/ip) parameters.

Win32 ODBC config that works :
Server name	: 'SIL'
Database name :'sil01'
user name : 'dba'
password : 'sql'
Network tcp/ip : 'host=192.168.1.1;port=2638'

In freetds I do not know where to set the server name (seems to be
needed in the negotiation with the server [i guess]), and, as far as I
can see in the tdsdump) the database name does not get transmitted
either, which renders the error from the server.

Really appreciate your help.
/Björn Lantz

odbc.ini :

[sil01]
Driver          = /usr/lib/libtdsodbc.so
Description     = Test
Servername      = SIL
#Server         = 192.168.1.1
#Port           = 2638
#TDS_Version    = 5.0
Database        = sil01
Trace           = Yes
FetchBufferSize = 99

freetds.conf :
[global]
  tds version = 7.0
  initial block size = 512
  swap broken dates = no
  swap broken money = no
  try server login = yes
  try domain login = no
; nt domain = WORKGROUP
  cross domain login = no
  dump file = /tmp/freetds.log
  debug level = 99
;       timeout = 10;
;       connect timeout = 10;

[SIL]
  host = 192.168.1.1
  port = 2638
  tds version = 5.0
  text size = 2048

./configure \
  --build=i386-redhat-linux \
  --prefix=/usr \
  --exec-prefix=/usr \
  --bindir=/usr/bin \
  --sbindir=/usr/sbin \
  --sysconfdir=/etc \
  --datadir=/usr/share \
  --includedir=/usr/include \
  --libdir=/usr/lib \
  --libexecdir=/usr/libexec \
  --localstatedir=/var \
  --sharedstatedir=/usr/com \
  --mandir=/usr/share/man \
  --infodir=/usr/share/info \

  --with-unixodbc=/usr \
  --includedir=/usr/include \
  --oldincludedir=/usr/include \
  --with-tdsver=7.0 \
  --enable-threadsafe

Finally I am using unixODBC 2.2.4.
