I’m using freetds .50 on a linux redhat 5.2 machine to connect to ms sql
7.0 on a nt server. Installation was without errors, and the test worked
fine. However when I try to connect to my server the test hangs at-

Starting tests for tds
----------------------
Building...done
Testing 1...

When I run the test program in freetds/src/tds/unittests/ called t0001 it
hangs after printing-
Unknown marker: 0!!

The sql 7.0 server log gives an error of-
Error: 17832, Severity: 18, State: 7
2000-03-23 20:39:29.41 ods Connection opened but invalid login
packet(s) sent. Connection closed..

I tried configuring freetds with both --with-tdsver=7.0 and
--with-tdsver=4.2 options and neither made a difference. I even tried a
suggestion posted here to compile it with a version of 70 instead of 7.0.
no difference

What am I missing? Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
Sincerely,
Matthew Schwartz
