Hi all,
Some of you probably noticed that I was suddenly gone for about 3 months
without any notice. I'd like to explain what happened.
Actually, there were three things that came together:
1. My company had financial problems. In Switzerland, there's a thing
called "short work", i.e. if a company can't operate on full capacity
because there are no or not enough mandates, the company can apply for
"short work" which means that people work less or not at all while the
government pays their salaries. This of course only works for a limited
time and only, if there is some hope that the situation will get better
again. So, I couldn't work on my current project anymore because I
wasn't supposed to work at all. Now you'll say "in this case, Raffi had
lots of time to spend on DPML" ... right, BUT:
2. Because I was sharing the internet with a neighbour and this
neighbour suddenly left on very short notice, I lost the internet at
home. The ISP obviously wasn't very interested in resolving this issue
quickly, it took actually almost two months, until I had internet again.
Without internet no working on OpenSource projects ...
3. Someone broke into my flat and stole my laptop, so additionally to
having no internet, I didn't have any workstation anymore.
Well, the issues are all resolved, I'm working again, I have internet
and I bought a nice new P4/3.2GHz/HT laptop. So I'm back. ;)
cu,
Raffi

The difference between theory and practice is that in theory, there is
no difference, but in practice, there is.
