This does not concern tea directly, but it is very important to all on this list.

Dennis Hastert, the Speaker of the House, allowed a rider to be put on the Omnibus Appropriations Conference Report that was voted on last week. This rider allows conventional feed to be used by those claiming organic status in their livestock operations if the organic feed will cost twice as much as conventional feed. In particular, a poultry producer from Georgia was able to finagle a last minute deal to get it added on the federal budget deal the night before it was to be voted on. As I understand it, we have until the 24th, Monday, to voice our concerns to our congress people.
