i've never quite understood the point of it either. i, personally,
like that we're a destination that different bands want to hit.
the only thing that comes out of a section like that is soiling the
name of our area. a lot of these smaller bands are out trying to
actually make ends meet on a tour. they're still paying their bills
back home like we are. i might not like their style of music at all,
but i respect the fact that they're trying to make it on the smaller
club circuit.

if i were to travel to a place and learned before i got there that i
was not wanted there, i'd be hurt as hell. there seems to be something
wrong about it. i would hate to be in someone like glenn's position.
he had nothing to do with the article, but because he is the contact
and busted his ass to make it happen, he's the face that has to deal
with the backlash from the band. that just plain sucks, no one likes
dealing with a cranky band.

bands know how to use google. they're gonna always find that section.
then they're gonna forever associate our area with a negative vibe.
then word spreads.
it's detrimental to both the desire of bands to stop here AND the
venues themselves.

those bands might now try with all they can to avoid this area the
next few times around. that sucks for your friend that really likes
them. seeing live music locally is something that i think should not
be tampered with - good or bad.

goofy, satirical and sarcastic reviews are awesome, but can't we be
more creative?
why bash something like our local wealth of music after so many people
worked so hard to make it happen?
