If you haven't heard of Kepteclectic yet, it's just a matter of time.
If you're in Chapel Hill tonight, see them play FREE at 10pm at
Goldie's Grille, located at 137 East Franklin Street in the Bank of
America Center (21+). Kepteclectic has built up an incredible fanbase
for a young band yet to release their first album, due out later this
year. Word of mouth alone was enough to pull the band out of the open
mic arena and into paid headlining slots without the help of a press
kit or any extensive promotion.
Frankie Goodrich, lead singer, amazes me. Somewhat of a human beat
machine & synthesizer, he combines acoustic guitar with beatboxing and
vocal melodies. Check out his site http://www.myspace.com/frankgoodrich
and listen to "Slackn The Cack REMIX." His captivating vocal tone and
song writing capabilities are further enhanced by Jimmy D'Andreas hard
hitting percussion and Day Jones slinky bass lines. Their sound is
truly unique - imagine a Sublime/Nirvana combo. Check 'em out on my top
friends list or visit http://www.myspace.com/kepteclectic to hear some
of their new tracks slotted for the upcoming album release.
Goldie's Grille offers a full bar, a laid back atmosphere and a great
late night appetizer menu. Open daily from 11am-2am, they offer both
indoor and outdoor dining on an expansive covered patio in the heart of
Chapel Hill. For more information or directions please call
919.967.0909.
