My office/cube just got moved out of Carrboro and closer to home, gym,
and most of what I'm responsible for at work. So now I'm at Meadowmont
with mixed feelings. I'm closer to everything but I miss being in
Carrboro. And if I'm forced to overhear conversations at my desk, the
attorney's office on the other side of the paper wall was much more
entertaining than IT stuff. It's just bland and more expensive here. La
Russa's isn't so bad and the muffin$ at this other un-named place are
good except I feel like I'm walking into an adult version of a slumber
party for 8 year olds every morning. At least I'm back closer to Aurora
and $4 mussel bisque w/ fresh crusty bread.
It makes me wonder what my employer would've thought of a large enough
building in Carrboro if it were available when they got this one. Or,
even better, the ability to build their own without making so many power
and structural changes. Not only would they have kept about 70 people,
but they would've added about 70 more from other places. It'd sure make
me feel better about going to a show at the Cradle when I'm on-call.
I guess one plus is I'm saving money by providing my own food more.
I'll let you know how my combine-at-work carbonara kit experiment goes.
