Les Paul over IP

Bad idea.  This seems similar in spirit to that new Bose PA system thing
(long link below), where each musician plugs into this tall cylindrical
thing.  These companies should do focus groups with some of us trogolodyte
guitar players before they put products like this on the market.  It would
be a hard sell to convince even the nerdiest guitar players I know to plug
their electric guitar into a laptop with an ethernet cable and then into a
big cylinder thing.  That said, those new Line 6  Variax modeling guitar
things are pretty cool.  But give me my crackly passive pickups and smelly
tube amp anyday.
