An example of the metadata can be found at the URL below:
One of the biggest things that we have done is to separate the
"Recording" of a song from the "Resource" where the file is available.
This is because there could be many resources for a given recording,
such as an mp3 file and an ogg file, each with their own properties. In
the future we plan to also have a "Song" object, so that many different
recordings could represent different versions of the same song.
You'll also notice that things like where to buy the album are described
under the Album tag.
"lyrics" and "track" are added to the Recording section.
Resource is a generic object for files that can be shared on our
system. It contains information such as where it can be found online
and a sha1 checksum. Without the checksum, reliable file transfer is
not even possible.
Requiring everybody to provide a checksum may not be the best way to get
people to adopt CC metadata in the long run. Still, there is no reason
not to turn our work into a broader standard. I've been meaning to make
a schema for some time. Please let me know what you think of what we
have done. There is a "Rainbow Builder" on the web site which helps
people create these metafiles. It could still use some work.
