And of course it's perfectly possible to release your images under a noncommercial noderivatives license (CC-BY-NC-NC) for noncommercial use then charge for the same images to be used in commercial projects. That would be a perfect use of CC-BY-NC-ND, and would be more like "try before you buy". Hopefully the noncommercial exposure of your work would drive interest in commercial use of it.
