1) xdg-mime is command-line only, making it a run-time dependency, which
I don't like.  If xdg-mime doesn't exist, we have to give up on
embedding because we won't know what i/o module to use. 2) xdgmime is in
cvs, so no svn:externals.

For a 100kb library, with relatively few updates (cvs shows some updates
3/4 weeks ago, and the updates before that were 12+ months ago), I think
it's worth it to remove the trouble of an external dependency, and
spawning xdg-mime and parsing it's output.
