I had a brief email exchange with Michael Kaply (of Operator fame)
yesterday afternoon and he reported a bug, which I've fixed. I think
that a side effect of this is that there will be fewer passes made on
pages. I also changed the way that page processing is dispatched to
create fewer threads (I'm not sure where the thread overhead v.
performance gains really "break even"). You can download the new
version at
http://mirrors.creativecommons.org/software/mozcc/download/mozcc-2.3.9.2.xpi.
I'd be interested in hearing how performance compares to the previous
release, as well as if the performance is any different between loading
a page for the first time v. re-loading the page.

As far as I know it's a firefox-side choice. I've not seen any way to
control the enabled/disabled state from the extension code.
