Performing a score would be analogous to compiling source code. A
performance of a score would be analogous to the binary compiled from
source code.

Transmitting that performance/binary in a way which *enables* others
to make a copy, is conveying it. (Surely transmitting a performance
through FM radio enables others to make a copy.)
