If the contract with the stock photo agency does not include an
indemnification clause for actual or alleged copyright infringement,
then you, you do need to run down the copyright status of each
photography you use.
If it does contain an indemnification clause, you do need to ensure that
the photograph, and all copyrightable elements within the photograph are
covered by that clause.
That contract should also include a model release for each element of
the photograph that requires one.
