well, I fell for it :-)
but it raises a great issue
as for the cultural heritage sector, I'd be interested in research that
analyses the relationship between monetising collections online by
restricting and selling access vs opening them up and having the overalll
economy benefit, incl commercial re-use. I guess that the findings would
paint a diverse picture, and that it'd include findings similar to those
from PSI re-use studies which often creates more wealth for a nation
overall, if distributed at the marginal cost of distribution.
Can anyone point to such research for teh cultursl heritage sector?
