Well, it's never made any sense to me, but everybody seems to do things
the wrong way round.
Most people that write songs, actually do the music first and then put
the lyric to it afterward.
Believe it or not, most of the professional arrangers do it this way.
I've always found it better to form the lyric, which gives you a metre,
which provides the rhythm aspect and then write the music afterward, as
the lyric supplies the required feel for the music.
If it's a strong powerful lyric, this has to be reflected in the music
so that the music and the lyric endorse each other.
But I haven't done a lot of writing.
