Dear all,
Non-profit publisher Pratham Books (http://www.prathambooks.org/) has just released a series of educational texts to the commons, as announced here:
http://blog.prathambooks.org/2008/11/on-joining-commons.html
Pratham has worked to provide content to the Nepalese branch of One Laptop Per Child and the Open Learning Exchange.
They have released six books - including four on introductory mathematics - under the Attribution-Noncommercial-Share Alike 2.5 India Creative Commons Licence.
These colourful works are available on Scribd for pdf download (http://www.scribd.com/people/documents/128645/folder/49703?secret_password=3i31nhz6kibxvg582pe).
Gautam John informs me that his organisation has also been working with Connexions to build a platform for translation, re-use and remix.
In the interim, comments and criticism are most welcome.
Please direct enquiries to gautam at prathambooks.org<mailto:gautam at prathambooks.org>.
Many thanks,
Rachel Cobcroft
