I agree with that, just saying that I don't think that this protection 
comes without the necessity of sometimes having to deal with the 
copyright holder. Which is more important to the author; never having to 
deal with downstream users wanting some edge-case interpretation , or 
protecting the community? I use cc-by-sa for music and gpl for software, 
when the choice is mine alone, so I guess that's my choice as which is 
more important. Nonetheless I expect it's more likely that I may have to 
deal with such requests in the unlikely event that someone actualy wants 
to use mine in some mixture with differently-licensed works.

Further , I don't believe that what I said applies to 'public domain 
STYLE LICENSE' rather only to purely complete release (if that's legally 
possible!!! in your jusridiction!! ) , that MIT or BSD is still a 
license, the copyright is retained by the author isn't it? It has some 
clauses that users must follow (retaining the copyright notice e.g. )
