Hey all,

What's the general consensus with regard to the new proposals coming out of Warner?

I have mixed feelings about it. I have grave concerns about a two-tier internet and any lack of net nutrality. I wonder what impact such a scheme could have on Creative Commons music. At one point in the article they suggest the creation of a "collection agency for the digital age". Presumably this won't effect ASCAP and other similar collection agencies, it's just to stem the tide of p2p sharing of copyright music for free.

Some bloggers are suggesting it's being touted almost as an insurance not to be sued, I can also see where that might lead to all kinds of abuse and confusion.

Your thoughts?

Kevin
