This is all very positive, we've talked on this list previously about the
possible "way forward" for artists, it excites me when magically some of the
more obvious ideas finally start to appear :)

Whilst we're on the subject of downloads, lest we forget The Crimea, a
lesser-known well-known-band who chose to give their music to their fans
before Radio Head....sadly not under any particularly libre license afik.
They are currently pushing their "Loop a Loop" song which is featured on a
UK TV commercial for bubble gum, via a remix competition in a very "open"
way.

Maybe someone from the CC community should send a note to The Crimea with
regard to their licensing?

Kevin
