Even BY and BY-SA without NC do not require that the copyright holder (and in
thier case, and BY-ND's case, anyone else) make the works available at not
cost.
I see from what they are doing, that they are trying some things with an NC
part that I have been suggesting for a straight BY-SA play.
One thing is the "LIMITED TO 2500 PIECES, NUMBERED AND PERSONALLY SIGNED BY
TRENT REZNOR."
Another is the combined CD and vinyl combo.
Personally, I find REM's recent doings more interesting even though they are
not CC as they are the only ones of the three making a libre play. The others
are only playing about in the gratis / non-gratis space.
I find the play a bit confusing at first glance but intend to go back look
more closely fairly soon.
all the best,
