That's a little too long to be readible in a 72 DPI button - you'd have
to use real small type.

Also, the desired license might not actually be commercial at all, in
the case of a purely amateur filmmaker who posts videos to YouTube for fun.

I considered just CUSTOM LICENSE, but I thought it might not be
well-understood.

I finally came up with SPECIAL LICENSE. That seemed to capture what I
wanted. My first attempt at actual graphics is here:

http://www.oggfrog.com/cc-plus/

That will be the real page for requesting additional permissions - that
is, the CC-Plus license RDF will have that URL, and printed material
will spell it out in text.

I'm not happy with the readibility of SPECIAL LICENSE in the 72 DPI
button, but I think I can improve it if I loosen up the tracking - that
is, put more space between each character. I'll try that after I post this.

                           **** HOWEVER! ****

I don't actually want to go ahead and use SPECIAL LICENSE for my
application of CC-Plus until someone in the know at one of the Creative
Commons office says it's OK.

I got the impression, when I went to the party in San Francisco a while
back, and heard Larry Lessig's introduction to CC-Plus, that there had
been no consideration of CC-Plus being used for any purpose but to grant
commercial use of otherwise NonCommercial material.

If that's the case, I'd like to be the first one to point out the
obvious application to BY-SA - not having to ShareAlike. I'm happy to
serve as a test case for this.

I think it would also be useful for BY-ND, to permite certain kinds of
derivative works. In my specific case, I have a bunch of BY-ND essays
that I'd like to get translated to foreign languages, and as many of
them as possible!

One final note - I won't be rolling out CC-Plus on my website, or in my
music downloads, until I move my site from
http://www.geometricvisions.com/ to http://www.michaeldavidcrawford.com/

It's going to take some time, and a lot of work.

Besides the web design, there is license metadata to be updated in my
downloads, new torrents to generate and seed, and a great deal of
printed material - my CD label, case insert, a poster that I put on
bulleting boards that has tear-off tabs with the URL on them, and
handbills I give out, or leave on counters in record stores for their
customers to take.

But besides getting a commercial printer to print my sheet music, I'll
also get one to do my handbills - once the new domain is ready.

And T-Shirts, with my cool geometric logo! And coffee mugs!

I'm such a whore...

Thanks for your help everyone,
