Whatever you do, please do NOT choose Google's 'picassa albums'.
(Sorry if this' been discussed.....)
Google wish to have every single byte of online info posted on a
Google site has raised the ire of pattern designers.
We believe that the original premise was to host free albums to show
a distant Grandma the grandies' newest pix.

Most (or at least too many to excuse as an accident...) albums now
are filled with every pattern kit, book and website that can be located.
We are a group of Starving Artists, trying to supplement our retail
income with the sale of patterns and kits in knit/crochet/Needle Felt.

Unscrupulous purchasers are either unaware of our Copyrights (a
little hard to believe!!) or are hold a devil-be-damned attitude:
after all of our tears of trial and error to work out patterns, get a
publisher to carry our work and mostly market them ourselves, these
individuals feel that it's their right to publish our work online,
free for all, depriving us of our rightful income.

Yes, Google WILL listen to verified complaints of Copyright
Infringement and the author must go through a long process to get
their own materials removed from each 'album', but - though clearly
stating that this type of behavior is mot allowed, there are no
filters in place to prevent them from being posted in the first
place. They place the onus on us to prove our rights.

One could probably spend most of every day online trolling for
illegal use of our materials: it almost makes one decide to stop
designing new patterns, kits, books, etc...
