[cc-community] Project Palimpsestus (sharing and protecting plain ideas)

Idea-collection sites like this would have to be very specific to the
medium those ideas were designed for. For example, an idea for an
invention could not work with Creative Commons because CC doesn't
cover patents. An idea for a video advertising method might fall into
the same category. However, CC would be perfect for a site that
collects treatments for scripts -- short one or two page descriptions
of a plot -- that could then be taken by a screenwriter and made into
a screenplay, and then by a filmmaker and made into a film.

I believe this project could be very useful to a lot of people, but
the needs and legal landscape for each community should be evaluated
individually for it to be most effective.

Best,
// Matt
