Me neither, and I intend to ask a couple of friends who are active in the
Spanish astronomy fan publishing (in fact, I think they will be part of
observatorio.info, most likely), but one thing first:

The license is stated by linking to CC, so nothing has been altered. The
only thing the clarifcations do is:

a) establish what they understand by "non-commercial"

b) establish the minimum conditions of attribution.

Now, their opinion on a) may not final, but I think b) is reasonable: for
each translation, they request an attribution link for each page (not a
generic one to the frontpage of the site), and they request that the
original authors from APOD also be properly credited.

Not commenting about the virulence of their reaction. I too think this is
more of a "loophole" think than an "illegality" think myself.

I am just now writing to the list to aks publicly.

Cheers,

Javier
