But isn't it the case that anyone who makes a derivative work can demand
attribution? So if I snag an SVG off Wikimedia Commons, edit it, and
post it to my own site, I can say "Attribute this to me, based on a work
by Wikimedia Commons". Ad infinitum for subsequent derivatives. So if
the concern is not to require too many attributions for downstream
users, the 2.5 clause won't necessarily help. It requires, basically,
that all contributors waive their right of attribution in lieu of one to
the collective or publisher -- something which, AFAIK, the license can't
compel.
