Yes, search costs are incredibly high, but the task is fungible. :)

I've found a fair amount of stuff that I love, but it has taken a lot of
work, even moreso because I try to stay away from NC licensed stuff when
listening.

Why bother? (Apart from idealism.)

Because I view listening as not only pleasure but also building a mental
library of great stuff.  If that stuff is stuff I can't reuse (including
commercially) down the line, my memory is of less value to me.
