Dear all,

I have not took part in the education track and I wish I did, as it
seems from descriptions found online that it was wonderful. Or, more
precisely, I wish other themes of the summit were similarly structured.
From what I understand, the success was due not only to an interactive
nature, but to the fact, that the track was structured as a meaningful
whole that involved participants in a two day experience?

Can we replicate this with other subjects / themes? I know that good
facilitators are a key issue, but I think a good structure can solve a
lot as well.

Having said that, I cannot come up with many other themes that could
warrant such an intensive track - other than the general "spreading free
culture" theme, which could similarly be structured to a) provide
existing examples b) look for synergy c) plan together future actions.
Any other ideas?

And if there are to be traditional panels, I think we could compose them
in a more collaborative / consensus-based manner.

Regarding the shape of the "Learn" track in the other proposed form
("students of free FC"), the problem I see with it is that it achieves
mainly local goals - that is, it's probably very useful for the local
community, which learns about FC. But does not push ahead work and
collaboration at a global scale. It seems like a missed opportunity for
a global summit. One solution that I see is to use such a track as a
test-bed for building some sort of an educational scenario or materials
that could be later replicated to teach about FC.

Best,

Alek
