It would be good tocollect notes from others who have put on cc salons so we can identify various facets of this event.

creative commons australia (http://creativecommons.org.au) (CCau) invites
you to its first ccSalon (http://creativecommons.org.au/ccsalon), a showcase
of the creative commons in australia.
 
a ccSalon is a public exhibition/performance/expo of how artists are using
creative commons licences and material worldwide. the ccau event features
creative commons licensed material by a range of australian artists,
including a live audio/visual mash up of music by collapsicon
(http://collapsicon.net) and hybrid arts music ensemble collusion
(www.collusion.com.au) with music and visuals by andrew garton of
toysatellite (www.toysatellite.org).
 
garton will be drawing on cc content by other australia creators including
animation duo blackbrow (www.blackbrow.com), photographer frollop
(www.frollop.com), the community convergent newsroom
(http://ccnonline.org.au), a new leaf media (www.anewleaf.com.au) and a swag
of australian flickr photographers.
 
The CCau ccSalon will be held from 6pm on 29 November 2006 at the Block, QUT
Creative Industries Precinct, corner of Musk Ave and Kelvin Grove Rd, Kelvin
Grove, Brisbane. Free entry, all welcome.
 
Creative Commons is an international non-profit organisation that aims to
promote flexible copyright options for creators. At the core of the Creative
Commons project is a suite of licences, freely available to creators, which
aim to foster sharing and collaboration in the creative industries. Creative
Commons builds upon the "all rights reserved" of traditional copyright to
create a voluntary "some rights reserved" system.
