In this case there is only one copyright owner, but they didn't include
that metadata in the MP3s, it is only on their web site. That's not
too surprising given that most users of software tools don't actually
use more than the basic capabilities. (A bit like most normal people
don't read copyright licenses.)
The other problem is that some MP3 players (e.g. the one in my DVD player
and the cheap one I bought after more expensive ones broke) don't display
the metadata.
In this case, I believe I comply with the letter of the full legal code,
on this point, by including the originator in the copyright notice.
I'm going to include a paper copy of the CC Deed and the list of links for
that document, but I'm still thinking of better ways to get the essence
onto the disk itself. As I read the full code, I don't strictly need
to include any of the licence if I include a URL, but normal people won't
follow the URL, so I want to get as much as the message over in a way that
they may read it.
Incidentally, I think it would be a good idea if full URL of the
legal code were included in the licence deed, but styled so that it
only displayed for a media type of printer. Wikipedia does this for
external links.
