People might also be interested in this (particular you wiki-ers) - should be a very interesting discussion on how publishing is responding to the digital environment.
I've already bought my ticket.
WORDPOOL: The Future of the Book
>From authoring, editing, and layout to distribution and consumption, new technologies are changing all aspects of publishing. So what is the future of the book?
Join Bob Stein, Founder and Co-Director of the Institute for the Future of the Book<http://www.futureofthebook.org/>, and Founder of The Voyager Company for a lively discussion on the impacts of the digital revolution.
He'll be joined by QWC<http://www.qwc.asn.au/> CEO Kate Eltham, fresh from her participation in the O'Reilly: Tools of Change for Publishing<http://www.toccon.com/> Conference in New York.
Bob's work directly investigates the evolution of intellectual discourse as it shifts from printed pages to networked screens. For 13 years he led the development of over 300 film titles to videodisc and CD ROM. He's also worked at Atari on various electronic publishing projects and has been at the forefront of the development of authoring tools for the next generation of electronic publishing.
