>From the CCau website (apologies for cross-posts):
CCau's sister project, Remix My Lit<http://www.remixmylit.com/>, has declared August to be remix month. They have 9 new short stories up, all written by prominent Australian authors - from ABC Fiction Award winner Damian MacDonald<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Damian_McDonald_%28Writer%2C_Musician%29> to best seller Kim Wilkins<http://www.kimwilkins.com/>. And all licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial ShareAlike<http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/2.5/au/> licence - just waiting for you to rework, remix and reinvent.
The CC licences are, of course, perpetual - you're free to use the stories anytime. But if you send your remixes to anthology at creativecommons.org.au before 31 August you'll get your story posted on the website, and have a chance for it to be published in the hard copy anthology alongside your favourite author.
So get to it. And if you want to know more about remixing literature, join the Remix My Lit team at the Melbourne Writers’ Festival<http://www.mwf.com.au/> for two events:
* Beyond Read/Write: A Literature Remix Masterclass<http://www.mwf.com.au/2008/content/mwf_2008_events.asp?name=2993> on Friday 29 August 2008 from 9.00am - 11.00pm at the Immigration Museum. It’s free, but places are limited so book now on 1300 722 211.
* the live multimedia remix event<http://www.mwf.com.au/2008/content/mwf_2008_events.asp?name=3099> at Federation Square, Saturday 30th August 2008 from 3.30-5.00pm.
