[Biblical-languages] Text processing of Greek in a large batch of

I was interested to read Rod Decker's question regarding transferring
legacy data files into Unicode, as earlier this year I wrote a program
using Visual Basic to transfer into a Unicode font some thousands of
files of my own from the old BWGRKN font which came with an old edition
of Bibleworks for Windows.
Would that I had known then of the resources Peter Kirk's post noted!
>SIL has published a set of encoding converters which do what you want,
in a number of ways including from MS Word. See

rs.
and
>An alternative way of doing the same thing (for Greek and Coptic only,
the Hebrew doesn't work with current MS software) which may come with
the tables you need is Antioch, from

These possibly could have saved me tens of hours of work; however,
doing the task automatically will no doubt save you hundreds of hours,
Rod, as was true for myself. I've hesitated to add anything to this
thread, as hopefully Peter's suggested resources will provide a complete
solution to your task; if, however, for some reason they are somehow
not suited to your files, perhaps my own coding or that of others who
have faced the very difficulties you describe could be adapted to give
some help.
Best wishes,
