That is comparable to other cases of a spacing version of a diacritic. See,
for instance, U+00B4 ACUTE ACCENT (compat decomp is 0020 0301).

True, not unless the search engine is applying compatibility
decompositions. That's all part of the pain of supporting legacy encodings.
