This email is just a test to see if it goes out to the b-lanuanges list. I
have not received any digests since January 16 and after wandering around
the ibiblio website found the biblical-languages web page where the last
recorded entry was on January 24. I am apparently still on the list. I
also sent an email to Jonathan Robie to see what had happened. Nothing came
back so here I am sending this off.
I have some things I want to ask those 'in the know' about which operating
system is best for typing in both Greek and Hebrew. At present I still use
Windows 95 with Office 2000 and any font I find on the WWW along with Graeca
and Hebraica. We are intending buying another computer and will likely
update to Windows XP Home. I want to type up all the paradigms/tables for
classical Greek, Hebrew, Aramaic, Syriac which I have learnt and Latin which
I stumble through without having to write all the words backwards as I must
presently do. I would like to be able to eventually write these to disc and
GIVE them away to whomever asks. Later I would like to add a vocabulary
list for each language and also include some kind of macro (?) which would
transfer any selected word onto a page set up as a table which could be cut
apart into 'vocab cards'.
I also want to know how copyright works with any font I use. If I designed
my own font would this cancel any problems I may have about giving away any
my charts?
Hoping this restarts the list or I finally find out what happened to any
digests I did not receive.
