What features do you find useful?  I have never used either program.

I just downloaded http://chicago.sourceforge.net/xlhtml 
source code, which compiled on the first try to produce xlhtml (Excel 
convertor) and ppthtml (Powerpoint convertor).   There are online 
convertors from HTML to Powerpoint.  Magicpoint can be converted to HTML.
It seems to be a very popular program.
