I also compiled libz for lynx but it seems unnecessary.
links graphical uses a lot of image libraries and svgalib.

Isn't Stephen working on elinks and uclibc?

Lynx 2.8.6dev16 crashed (exited back to the prompt) for me once, with a 
message to report the problem with lynx 2.8.5rel2.
