It does not do so for me.
Server is BL3 (192.168.1.2)
Client is BL2 (192.168.1.1)
Ethernet connection. pings okay.
On server go into a directory with index.htm in it
Type httpd
On client type
links
g
http://192.168.1.2 404 Not found
g
http://192.168.1.2/index.htm - serves the page
I think the http:// is not required.

I do this with links (not d), g, http://localhost
404 Not Found The requested URL was not found on this server.
http://localhost/index.htm - serves the page index.htm
http:// is required in this case. Otherwise it looks in the current
directory.
g
192.168.1.2/index.htm also works (from computer 2 to itself)
