I tried it again just now (having had the computer turned off for a few
hours) and this time started with 640 resolution rather than 1024 followed
by 640, in case is somehow messed things up to have maximized dosemu.
This time everything works right under xdosemu, including the green and
blue foreground (which are now distinct) and the arrow keys. So this is
some very odd little bug.
But plain dosemu WP51 is still screwy.

If I leave a 1 sec gap before each letter I type, it works. Strange.
I still prefer WP42 to 51, much simpler and faster to use, but nobody I
send files to can import 4.2 because MS decided against that.

My fault, I was trying to run wp42 from linux, not dosemu. I am having a
bit of trouble keeping these levels straight ;=)
I will try occasionally using WP51 under xdosemu.
