These are relatively recent Hayes Accura V90 modems.  The one that 
connects at 44000 looks identical to the one that connects at 28800.

I would rather not get into linmodems.  I have several working hardware 
modems and this one works okay.  The disconnects are common to all our 
modems - probably from the ISP end.

I can get other things with wget.  Normally I don't use the -O -.

I can't download a radio station first.

I now have two 24K stations to play with and will try the wget....|mpg123 
- approach with a 44000 connection.
