[BL] problems with new BL3: Links2 package

If it were just a patch (or just one or two changed files) that would be a 
few minutes downloading for end users.  If it is another complete version 
(with loadlin, etc.) it is 1/2 hour download or longer, each time.

I will try that now that I have BL3 on a linux partition. Until now I have 
been saving all my files on the DOS partition with truncated names.  Can I 
also make a linux package of files over 8.3 length, package them into a 
8.3 tgz file, store it on a DOS partition, and then install it and get 
back the correct linux file names?
