[b-hebrew] A new list is definitely needed

Hi all,

I've been away for a while so I've had to read the entire discussion
to get up to speed with the issues being raised. One of the main
points I noticed is that those raising the issues don't seem to have
had any other recent input to the list.

Like other people have said the list is what *you* make of it. If you
post literature requests the list members are generally very fast in
supplying what you need (some are pretty good at it even if that's not
what you requested).

If you have queries regarding the meaning of a word or a grammatical
form the list members have always shown themselves to be at hand.

Of course, our discussions tend to go further than that because we
want to get to the very bottom of things and so when we consider the
meaning of a word we look at all avenues of evidence and,
unfortunately, dating of texts is an issue that seems to come up time
and again because of its relevance to many discussions.

The only advice I can give is that if you want the kind of discussion
you are looking for then post questions that stimulate that kind of
discussion. For example, I was interested in a formula and I posted a
question about it. Karl was very quick to come to my aid. There was no
long debate about historicity or anything else. It was purely
linguistic.
