His full name is yahweh sabaoth.  He who causes to be (musters) armies.  The hiphil imperfect needs an object as Cross recognized.  However, he was wrong to think it terms of a heavenly army.  "Yahweh is a warrior.  That is what his name means." (Exod 15:3).  But Cross did gave us the title, "The Divine Warrior."  See the song of Deborah for a matchless description of Yahweh on the march into Canaan.

But I digress.

It's a hiphil imperfect with the object sabaoth, rendering the meaning "he who cause to be (or musters armies."

I hope that this post is sufficiently grammatical for  . . . George and in no ways passes beyond the grammatical orientation of this forum.

Of course the silver scroll is the coup de grace to minimalism.  It's pre-exilic!

Is this forum moderated by minimalists?

But I digress again.  Apologies.

Finally, if I may say so, I would strongly urge the viewing of the program I mentioned before on the victory of the maximalists.  The history channel regards it as history past!  As I have said, so do I.

For your consideration,
