Hi Yitzhak,

I was taking his statement at face value, but upon reflection we could 
be meaning entirely different things.

By "short prefix verb" I'm referring to the prior yaqtul :: yaqtulu :: 
yaqtula paradigmatic contrasts, which is still apparent morphologically 
as I've previously mentioned and as you know. (The problem is to know 
what to do with yaqtul: is it homophonous or polysemous? But that's a 
different issue.)
