The EULOGHSAS seems somewhat vague to me. Is there any conceptual antecedent, or something similar, that clues us in as to WHAT Jesus is giving thanks for? The reason I am asking is because I have heard people, having been asked to bless the meal, give thanks to God for their many blessings, health, and perhaps pray for the soldiers abroad (for their safety and soon return), but sometimes they don't actually give thanks for THE FOOD. Is there something implicit here, or in other related passages, where we can surmise that our prayers (for meals) should specifically thank the Lord for the MEAL, rather than just a giving of thanks that seem unrelated to the present meal time. I realize this is a rather weird question, but I'm just wondering.
