I think Randall's reply is about all that really needs to be said regarding the matter. There is discussion regarding the possible use of Hebrew at the time and not simply Aramaic, but to say that the Jews of the time knew only Greek as opposed to their ancestral tongue is flatly wrong. It may have been true for some of the Diaspora, but it was not true in their native land.
