Mitch,

This is the paragraph I had in mind:

"First, the participles: the sequence is present, present, aorist,
aorist. Two states viewed as ongoing: (1) Christ's being the radiance
of God's glory and the impress of His being, and (2) His carrying the
universe by His powerful word. Two actions (or states) viewed as
past: (1) the accomplishment of purification of sins, and (2) being
better than the angels."

HEB. 1:3 hOS WN APAUGASMA THS DOXHS KAI CARAKTHR THS hUPOSTASEWS
AUTOU, FERWN TE TA PANTA TWi hRHMATI THS DUNAMEWS AUTOU, KAQARISMON
TWN hAMARTIWN POIHSAMENOS EKAQISEN EN DEXIAi THS MEGALWSUNHS EN
hUYHLOIS, 4 TOSOUTWi KREITTWN GENOMENOS TWN AGGELWN hOSWi
DIAFORWTERON PAR' AUTOUS KEKLHRONOMHKEN ONOMA.

His analysis of the aorist participles sounded a little odd to me,
particularly GENOMENOS in TOSOUTWi KREITTWN GENOMENOS TWN AGGELWN.

Anyway, it isn't that important but I have been reading about GINOMAI
and participles over the last several days so it caught my attention.
